Gaiam TV Review

I recently had the opportunity to try out Gaiam TV for the first time, and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with you guys. Gaiam TV is a streaming video subscription service that features health, wellness, yoga, fitness and even films and documentaries.

For me personally, the most useful part of the website were the fitness videos. I also found some of the Food & Nutrition videos to be quite interesting and informative as well.

I had no idea that they offered so many different kinds of workout videos. I’ve seen the Gaiam Yoga and Pilates products at the store and kind of just assumed that’s all they were about. Not true at all. Along with multiple workout videos of their own, I found several Jillian Michaels and Mari Winsor videos on their website.

I am a huge fan of Jillian Michaels DVD workouts. That woman is one tough trainer! I’ve owned both Jillian Michaels and Mari Winsor’s Pilates DVD’s in the past, and I really liked them. Mari Winsor is a celebrity Pilates instructor, who has worked with celebs like Drew Barrymore, Meg Ryan and Miley Cyrus.

In addition to Jillian Michaels and Mari Winsor, they also have several of The Firm and Leslie Sansone workout videos.

My personal opinion:

As a person who tends to get bored with doing the same workout DVD over and over, I think it’s a great service. There are so many different types of workout videos, you would probably never get bored. I really liked the fact that the workouts have a star rating system, so that with a quick look, you can get a better idea of which ones you might want to try.

For $9.95 a month, you get access to their entire library of videos. They do offer a ten day trial period, so that you can try it out to see if it’s something that would actually be beneficial for you. One DVD alone can cost that much and more, so if you really like working out at home, I think it’s a pretty good deal for that purpose alone.

Disclosure: I was provided with a free one month subscription to Gaiam TV, but all thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
