Favorite Makeup Brushes

A few years ago I invested in some high end makeup brushes. They are from celebrity makeup artist Trish McEvoy. I decided to purchase them after reading her book, The Power of Makeup.

By taking good care of them, they have held up well. They are made of high quality hair, and each brush in her line is made for a specific purpose.

The large Laydown brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow all over your eyelid.

The tapered blending brush makes it easy to get a beautiful contoured blended crease.

This is  the Powder/Blush brush. I prefer using it for powder, but it works great at applying blush too.

A couple of years ago, I decided to add to my makeup brush collection. At this time, more Trish McEvoy’s brushes were not in my budget. I saw that  InStyle magazine had rated  Sonia Kashuk’s line of  makeup brushes at Target  best inexpensive brush line for 2007 and 2005. (also in 2009) I purchased two brushes- blush and eyeshadow.

I really like the blush brush. It works great for applying blush. This particular eyeshadow brush is okay, but I prefer softer feel of the Trish McEvoy for applying eyeshadow.

I think that both of these lines are really good. The two Trish McEvoy eyeshadow brushes are top notch. The powder/blush brush is good, but I am just as satisfied with the  Sonia Kashuk blush brush. If you really want to splurge on something, I would pick the two Trish McEvoy eyeshadow brushes. They will last a long time if properly taken care of.
