Christmas Gift Ideas for Runners 2013

Christmas is just around the corner, so I thought I would share some Christmas gift ideas for runners today. These are all items that I think are fun and would make great gifts for that special runner in your life. There are a couple on here that I wouldn’t mind Santa bringing me this year! Are you listening, Santa? 🙂

Twas the Night Before the Race Ceramic Mug

I just love this coffee mug, which puts a “runners” spin on the old classic ‘Twas the night before Christmas story. Here’s an excerpt:

‘Twas the night before the race and all through the state,
Runners were carb loading hoping for a great pace.
Their race day clothes were hung with care,
Along with the gels, watches and bibs all there.

You can read the full text if you click on the link above. You could make a gift basket and fill it with coffee and energy gels, etc. if you didn’t want to just give the mug.

Sport Hooks by Heavy Medalz

These race medal hangers are a great way for runners to be able to display their medals. Heavy Medalz has so many different designs to choose from, including some great ones for the Disney race fanatics and Rock’n’Roll race series fans.

Fitletic Neoprene Double Pouch

Features:

I currently have a Spibelt, which I like for my shorter runs. However, I do some issues with it. It’s not waterproof. If it’s raining, I have to put my phone in a ziploc bag. I carry my cell phone and fuel during my races. I have found it to be a bit of a pain trying to get my fuel out without dropping my cell phone out of the pouch. The Fitletic belt would solve both of those problems, so this item is definitely on my wish list.

Baby & Toddler Clothing and Accessories

For all the mom and dad runners out there! How cute are those?!

Asics Winter Gloves

They feature a fabric with moisture management and breathability. They also offer a handy touch function on the index finger for using your phone or music player. Available in a different color for men.

The Grid Mini Foam Roller

If you know a runner that travels to a lot of races, this might be a handy item to give to them. After a long race, foam rolling can help speed recovery. Regular foam rollers are too large for most people to want to carry with them, especially if they are flying. This mini foam roller is compact enough fit in your suitcase.

Runner’s Brag Bracelet

I really like this charm bracelet. What a great way for someone to be able to showcase their accomplishments in a stylish way. I mean, it’s not like you can wear all of your race medals around your neck everywhere you go. 🙂 Plus, the personalization just makes it an incredibly special and thoughtful gift.

I did see on the i declare charms website that you would need to order by December 8th if you wanted it in time for Christmas, so keep that in mind if you like this gift idea.

Garmin Forerunner 10

A Garmin is one of the most wanted items on a runner’s wish list. Garmin’s can go for as high as $400, but this is one of their more affordable models at $130. It’s lightweight and tracks distance, pace and calories. Available in multiple colors.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas:

Running Car Magnets

The Gone for a Run website has a car magnet for every type of runner and triathlete out there!

Runner Figure Ornament

These can be personalized with a fine point permanent marker. There are a lot of different ornaments to choose from on this site besides just these.

Sparkly Soul Headbands

These headbands are not supposed to slip or snag. Available in a variety of colors, and there is also have a thinner version. Love the sparkle!
