Black beans are extremely good for you. They are full of protein, fiber, and antioxidants. I use them in many recipes, and this bean dip is one of my favorite ways to eat them. Using canned beans makes this bean dip easy to whip up any time.
What you will need.
First, rinse and drain a can of black beans. Place into a bowl.
Mash the beans with a potato masher or fork until well mashed.
Then, add the juice of half a small lime.
Next, chop a tablespoon of cilantro and one chipotle pepper (from a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce).
Add this, plus a tablespoon of adobo sauce to the mashed black beans.
Add in the cumin, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Add a dash of salt and mix well to combine.
Serve immediately or let chill for an hour to give the flavors time to ‘mingle’.
